We picked him after a competitive bidding process. There were 5 general contractors involved in that process. His number was not the lowest one. But I felt that he really looked at our plan and came up to that estimation. So his number is more reasonable.

Victor has a core group of guys with different specialties. When modifications is necessary, it is much easier to allocate you own resources vs. totally depends on subcontractors. It also helps maintain a level of consistency.

Before we started the process, we consulted with friends who have been through remodels themselves. Everyone has some unhappy stories to share. Our project is finished now. We don’t have any of that. This three-month project is finished on time, and we are happy with the outcome.”

During the proposals phase of the project, Victor and Michael worked closely with us to keep overall cost in check, helping us find minor alterations to the design that meant big dollar savings in the end.

When the crew was building they always kept the site clean, which was important as we were living in the house during construction. They were flexible, understanding, and polite. Some aspects of the construction was driven entirely by Victor, while we got more involved in others, like buying light fixtures and painting. It was great to work with a builder who let us have this flexibility.

Once the project was done, there were no unpleasant surprises. The project finished on budget and the building quality was excellent.
